WELCOME MESSAGE
Connecting people and the world,
shaping Gyeongju’s future
Welcome.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO).
Gyeongju is one of Korea’s leading MICE and tourism destinations, where a thousand years of history and culture remain part of everyday life. Building on the city’s strengths, HICO is growing into a global MICE platform where people, businesses, knowledge, and industries come together to create new opportunities.
The successful hosting of the 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting demonstrated HICO’s ability to deliver an event of global scale. Drawing on the experience, expertise, and confidence gained from APEC, we are preparing for our next chapter.
We will actively attract and successfully host international conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, and other MICE gatherings, creating new opportunities for exchange and business. In doing so, we aim to help Gyeongju grow as a global meetings destination and make the MICE industry a source of new value for the region.
The success of every event and the satisfaction of every guest will remain our highest priorities. We will provide thoughtful, high-quality service to organizers, exhibitors, delegates, buyers, and visitors alike, making HICO a venue they want to return to.
Another vital role is ensuring that the benefits of MICE reach the wider community. We will work closely with local businesses and residents so that the economic and social value generated by conferences and exhibitions extends to accommodation, tourism, dining, transport, shopping, and beyond.
A place where the world meets Gyeongju and Gyeongju connects with the world.
Taking the success of APEC as a new starting point, HICO will connect people and industries, our region and the world, to open a brighter future for Gyeongju.
Thank you for your continued interest and support.
